The Food Freedom Project (FFP) is offering competitive grants of $1000 for 5 organizations or individuals in the 50 United States who are working to create local systems of food sovereignty and promote food freedom in their communities.
Applications must be submitted online by 11:59 PM ET on September 15, 2025 to be considered for this round of funding. Grants will be awarded on November 15, 2025.
Only one application per project or person will be accepted.

All proposed projects must begin and be completed within the timeframe of November 15, 2025 – December 1, 2026.
To be eligible, you must:
- Operated for at least one year.
- Demonstrated impact in creating systems or improving food sovereignty in your region.
- Present a clear plan for how you will use the grant money.
- Shown a proven track record of fiscal responsibility within your team and organization.
- Possessed experience or access to expertise necessary for project goals.
- Exhibited high potential to benefit from the grant.
- Evaluated the merit and usefulness of proposed project goals
- Assessed the likelihood of success based on proposed steps and timeline
The award per project is $1000. Eligible expense categories include but are not limited to: materials, supplies, equipment, training, and hired labor costs.
If awarded a grant, project leads will need to complete a grant agreement that outlines reporting requirements, promotional outreach related to funded activities, and potential visits by FFP staff. Including the use of photography and video during visits, as well as the utilization of project name/photos/video in Price-Pottenger Nutrition Foundation (PPNF) and FFP marketing materials.
Additionally, you must submit a valid Schedule F or Schedule C form, or a comparable document from a recent tax return. This document is not required during the application process.
